Foundations for Great Futures
Foundations for Great Futures
For the first time ever, Onslow County youth and teens will have a permanent, purpose-built Club where great futures begin.

This project is about more than a building — it’s about building hope, opportunity, and belonging for Onslow County’s young people.
For too long, kids and teens here have lacked a permanent Boys & Girls Club — a safe, welcoming space that is truly their own. In a county where 17% of children live in poverty, where many families face the challenges of military life, and where too many youth go without stable support after school, this building will be a promise kept: that every child matters, and every great future deserves a place to begin.
This Club site will be designed for learning, leadership, creativity, and growth.
It will be a place where youth can gather after school and in the summer to access academic help, healthy meals, sports and arts programs, and caring adult mentors who see their potential and help them thrive. This will be Onslow County’s first brick and mortar Club site — a lasting investment in the futures of the kids who need us most.

Our Clubs have proudly served over 1,000 kids annually in Onslow County through nine school-based sites for decades.
Now, it’s time to create something lasting: a dedicated Club building designed just for them — a place where learning, leadership, wellness, creativity, and belonging thrive. The Need in Onslow County is real:
Yet, we’ve never had a permanent Club space to serve them fully. Until now.
This campaign is about more than a building. It’s about equity. It’s about access. And it’s about making sure every young person in Onslow County has the tools, space, and support to thrive.
Please note: These walkthroughs reflect the property in its current state. Renovations and updates will be made to align with Boys & Girls Clubs’ design standards and functionality to better serve our youth and community.

We are raising $2.5 million to open Onslow County’s first permanent Boys & Girls Club — a transformational project that goes far beyond bricks and mortar.
This campaign is about creating a safe, stable space where kids and teens are seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. It’s about building a vibrant hub for year-round programs that change lives, and about keeping a promise to Onslow County’s youth: Your future matters.
There are many meaningful ways you can support this vision:
Every gift, large or small, helps lay the foundation for generations of great futures.
Gifts at certain levels come with meaningful recognition opportunities, including naming rights, signage on the building, and more. Please see the chart below for donation levels and associated recognition opportunities. If you are interested in learning more or would like to discuss your gift, we invite you to contact our Resource Development Team at Development@bgcsenc.org — we would be honored to connect with you.

WHO WE SERVE
- We operate 21 Club sites across five counties in southeastern North Carolina, including Brunswick, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties.
- Each year, we serve over 2,200 youth and teens, ranging in grade level from kindergarten through high school.
- Our youth reflect the diversity and resilience of our communities, with many coming from military-connected families, single-parent households, and backgrounds where opportunities can be limited.
WHAT WE DO
Our Clubs are more than just after-school and summer programs — we are hubs of learning, growth, and support. Through six core program areas, we help young people thrive:
- Education (e.g. Power Hour homework help, STEM activities)
- Arts (creative expression and exploration)
- Sports & Recreation (teamwork and healthy lifestyles)
- Health & Wellness (positive choices and life skills through programs like SMART Moves)
- Workforce Readiness (career exploration and job skills)
- Character & Leadership Development (opportunities like Keystone Club and Youth of the Year)
OUR IMPACT
Here’s how we’re making a difference:
- 98% of our high school seniors graduate on time with a plan for the future.
- 94% of Club members say they feel equipped with the skills they need to be successful.
- 93% report they can work well with people different from themselves.
- 91% say they stick with tasks and keep trying, even when things get tough.
- 88% feel confident expressing their thoughts and ideas clearly.
- 80% believe they can make a positive difference in their community.
But the impact goes beyond numbers:
- Our Clubs provide thousands of healthy meals and snacks each year to those who need them most.
- We offer over 1,000 hours of mentorship, academic support, and enrichment annually at each site.
We help young people explore college and career pathways, with hands-on learning, internships, and leadership programs that prepare them for what’s next.
