From June 24 through June 28, our Clubs were buzzing with excitement and energy as we celebrated National Boys & Girls Club Week. Since 1941, this special week has honored the invaluable service Boys & Girls Clubs provide to communities, paving the way for great futures for every young person who walks through our doors. This year’s theme, “Level Up,” showcased our dedication to doing whatever it takes to support the youth of America.
Day 1: Game Loading – Our Core Programs
Day 2: The Legends of BGC – Spirit Day
Day 3: Next Level – Workforce Readiness
Day 4: Power Boost – Healthy Habits
Day 5: And the Winner is – Total Teen Takeover
We kicked off the week by highlighting the core programs that are the foundation of our Clubs. From STEM projects to arts and crafts, our programs are designed to spark curiosity and foster creativity. Tuesday was all about showing our Club pride. Members and staff wore their BGC Blue, creating a sea of unity and spirit. Our junior staff took center stage on Wednesday, demonstrating their growing skills in our workforce development program. These young leaders worked alongside our staff, gaining hands-on experience and valuable insights into various career paths. Thursday was dedicated to promoting healthy habits through active living. Members participated in tennis lessons, learning not only the fundamentals of the sport but also the importance of physical activity for overall well-being. Nutrition programs and healthy snacks emphasized the significance of making balanced choices. We wrapped up the week with a Total Teen Takeover, celebrating the energy and leadership of our teen members.
As we reflect on this memorable week, we want to thank our members, staff, volunteers, and community partners who made it all possible. Together, we are creating a brighter future for the youth of America, one filled with endless possibilities and opportunities. Here’s to leveling up and continuing to inspire, empower, and support our young leaders!
